Life Story for David Charles Amirault

David Charles Amirault
April 1, 1967 – April 16, 2016

David Charles Amirault, Port Coquitlam, BC, passed away in Burnaby Hospital on April 16th at the age of 49. Born in Truro, Nova Scotia, Dave was the youngest of six children born to Ted and Evelyn Amirault. Dave grew up in Truro and developed a love of music in school, spending many happy hours playing drums and later, guitar, with bands and friends. After university, Dave, along with many close childhood friends, ventured out west and settled in British Columbia. In time, Dave became a luthier and expressed his love of music through his craft, creating beautiful acoustic guitars, through which his music lives on. It was in BC that Dave met the love of his life, Analiza Dela Cruz. The two were married in August, 2012 and became a family of three, together with kind-hearted daughter, Carmela, and soon thereafter, became a family of four, with the addition of their dear son, Charlie, in November of 2012.

Dave is sadly missed by his family and also leaves behind his siblings, Eric Amirault of Ajax, Ontario, Peter (Debbi) Amirault of Fredericton, New Brunswick, Tony (Betty) Amirault of Truro, Nova Scotia, Norman (Tania) Amirault of Liverpool, Nova Scotia, and Anne (Jim) Rose of Berwick, Nova Scotia, as well as Aunt Cecile Gerin, Sister Irene Amirault, Aunt Dean Amiro, Uncle Nelson Amiro, and several cousins and nieces. On Ana’s side, Dave leaves behind her parents, Loveminda and Bienvenido Dela Cruz, as well as brother-in-law, Hajie Dela Cruz, and sister-in-law, Teresa Dela Cruz, all from the Philippines. Dave was predeceased by parents, Charles Theodore (Ted) and Evelyn Amirault, and several aunts and uncles.

Special thanks to Dave’s and Ana’s wonderful friends who have celebrated happy moments and milestones with them, and who have been so supportive throughout the difficult times as well. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

A Celebration of Life will take place on Thursday, April 28th from 1:30pm to 3:30pm at the Mountain View Cemetery Celebration Hall in Vancouver. All are welcome to come celebrate Dave’s life and to share memories and stories with each other. Dave and Ana would be honoured to have donations sent, in lieu of flowers, to fellow luthier Jay Duncan’s Canadian charity, Duncan Africa Society. http://duncanafrica.com/
