Susan Munroe

July 3, 1956 — December 25, 2025

New Westminster

Susan was born on July 3, 1956 in Whitehorse YK and died in New Westminster BC on December 25, 2025. She was the middle child of a family of 10 brothers and sisters

As a child, she spent her early years growing up and going to school in Coquitlam, BC. She was a big fan of JP Patches and his ICU2 machine and she dreamed of one day being a clown. When she was 12 her mother promised her a big surprise. The next day she returned home with a new baby sister for Susan. She was expecting a pony.

As a teenager, Susan took up Polynesian dancing and fell in love with the dancing, the culture, the costumes and the performances of the Islands.

As an adult, Susan built a very successful sales career for herself working for UniGlobe and Facet.

“Miss Adventure” enjoyed travelling and saw much of the world including trips to Australia, Scotland, Alaska, New York, Panama, Hawaii and much of western Canada and the US.

Susan lead an active lifestyle joining the YMCA Marathon Club where she formed many friendships but her real passion was for her 2 Shieh-Tzu dogs, Wine and Cheese. She was devoted to her pets and when they passed on however, after a time, she found 2 new “babies”--Fred and Ginger.

Susan believed in charitable giving and was a long time supporter of many charities including SPCA, Canadian Cancer Society, St. Paul’s Hospital, Canadian Red Cross and Walk for the Cure.

Susan faced many health challenges during her life but always seemed to find a smile and a positive outlook. “This too shall pass” became her motto .

Susan is now travelling the universe seeing and feeling things we can only dream of. She leaves behind her her family: Sandy (Nancy), Mary, Bob, Mike (Shelley), Pat (Mary), Tim, Dan, Scott (Sherrill), and Jenny (Darren), many nieces, nephews and friends to mourn her passing and celebrate her next life.

“She came, she laughed and loved, she stayed awhile and then, too soon, she was gone.”

The family would like to thank Lori Gerrard and the staff at Kiwanis Care Centre for their kindness to Susan during her last years.
