Muryl Olive Podmerow passed away at Burnaby General Hospital on January 19th, 2026, at the age of 83.

Muryl was predeceased by her parents Jens and Esther, her siblings Arlene and Julis. She leaves behind her loving husband of the past 57 years, her stepchildren Valerie, Shelley and Lisa. She also leaves behind grandchildren Tanya, Theresa, Thomas and great grandchildren Jared and Ethan, niece Christine and nephew Curtis.

Muryl was born in Shellbrook, Saskatchewan on June 3rd, 1942, and grew up in Vancouver, BC. She worked at Pearson Hospital in Vancouver, BC. She was a long-time member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority.

She and John have shared 57 wonderful years. Together they enjoyed a life filled with camping, fishing, flying with the Aero Club of BC and Boundary Bay flying club.

Muryl bravely fought against the effects of lung disease for the last 30 years.

In lieu of flowers John would appreciate if you would consider donating to Pacific Lung Health Centre at St Paul's Hospital.

She will be cremated with no formal service as per her request.
