Merrill Ruggles

Merrill was born in Kingston, NS, son of June & Christie Ruggles and oldest of 4 children. Predeceased by his parents and his sister Carol. Merrill is survived by his wife of 48 years Diane, daughter Cynthia, brother Alan and sister Kathy, mother-in-law Laura Coombs along with several cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Merrill left Kingston in October 1968 to move with Diane to Vancouver, BC. Merrill and Diane married on September 27, 1969 at St. Christopher's by the Sea on Saturna Island. They spent the early years of their marriage living in Vancouver & moved to Ladner in January 1976 and have remained there since. Merrill enjoyed fishing & watching baseball or hockey. An avid fly fisherman, he spent several hours in the Fraser Valley along the Vedder River. He also enjoyed time on Saturna Island where he would fish or go for a ramble. He was always willing to help whenever the need arose. Merrill will be remembered for his quick wit and his classic East Coast sense of humour.
