May Brown Murray

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of May Brown Murray at the age of 90.

May was born in Stranraer, Scotland. Preceded by her parents, Elizabeth and Richard Costley; Sisters Sylvia and Evelyn; and brother Robert. 

The family immigrated to Canada in 1955 and settled in Vancouver. After a two-year courtship, she married Ronald Alexander Murray in 1958. May was warmly embraced by her in-laws, Ronald and Jeanie Murray. 

May was deeply devoted to her husband, Ronnie, whose passing in 2020 was a profound loss for her. 

She leaves behind her loving daughters, Michele Moore (Dave Moore) and Cheryl Murray (Michele Hue); her cherished grandchildren, Tiana and Adam Sarich; as well as many extended family members and friends. 

May will be fondly remembered for her loving generous heart, her sense of humour, and her elegant style. 

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff at Origin at Longwood in Nanaimo, B.C., for their care and friendship. Her companions’ dedication, and patient, loving care were instrumental in May thriving in her final years. Special thanks to all the companions at Origin, and to Sheri LoPatriello from Wellness Companions, whose dedication and caring was a godsend.
