In Loving Memory of Margit Dudas-Udvarnoki
May 19, 1923 – July 3, 2025
With deep love and profound sorrow, the family of Margit Dudas-Udvarnoki announces her peaceful passing on July 3, 2025, at the age of 102.
Born on May 19, 1923, Margit lived a life marked by quiet strength, resilience, a sense of humour, and an enduring devotion to family. She witnessed a century of profound change and sadly many atrocities, with courage, grace and dignity, carrying with her the traditions and wisdom of generations past.
Margit was a cherished mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. Her warm presence, gentle and sometimes mischievous humour, and unwavering kindness and generosity touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. She was a woman of deep character, whose stories and values will continue to inspire those she leaves behind.
She is survived by her loving daughter Margaret, her devoted son-in-law Jim, her grandson Peter (wife Georgina), her granddaughter Sandy (husband Troy), and her three beautiful great-granddaughters, Lauren, Hannah, and Emilia. Her memory lives on in each of them—in their hearts, their laughter, and the lives they lead.
A Celebration of Life will be held to honour Margit’s memory on Sunday, July 20, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at the Evergreen Cultural Centre in Coquitlam, and will be live-streamed over Zoom for those who cannot join us in person. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you take a moment to share a story, raise a glass, make a donation to a deserving charity for single mothers or animals in need, or simply remember her in your own way.
