In Loving Memory of Kerry Darren Scales

May 14,1957 to July 29, 2025.

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved father, grandfather, and friend, Kerry Scales, who left us on July 29, 2025 at the age of 68. Kerry passed peacefully with his children by his side after a short but courageous battle with cancer. Known for his tireless work ethic, sharp wit, and unwavering loyalty, Kerry lived life with intention and conviction. A self-described workaholic, he poured himself into every endeavor, setting a standard of integrity and commitment that those around him admired. When he wasn't working, you could find him on the golf course—often giving the pros a run for their money. As a scratch golfer, he combined fierce competition with his signature sense of humor, never missing an opportunity for a well-timed one-liner or a gentle jab. Dad was never one to sugarcoat his words. He said what he meant and meant what he said—earning the respect of all who knew him. Beneath that frankness, though, was a heart full of warmth. He was a friend, a pillar of support, and someone you could count on—whether you needed advice or a good laugh!

Kerry is survived by his four children, Miranda (Chris), Jennifer (Ryan), Katie (Taylor), Sean, his two step-children Leigh and Brittany, and his devoted partner Sandy. He was the proud grandfather to Mackenzie, Keiran, Kade, Logan, Oaklan and Alivia. Kerry is also survived by his 3 sisters Toni, Pam & Lori.

A celebration of life will follow for those closest to him so memories can be shared in his honor. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Canadian Cancer Society.
