In Loving Memory of Ken Ambrose
With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Ken Ambrose, who left us peacefully on Monday, July 28, surrounded by his beloved family after a courageous battle with cancer. He was 76 years old. Ken is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Jane; daughter Jennifer (Dan); son Shawn (Siva); grandchildren Austin, Ryan, and Georgia; and many extended family members and friends who loved him dearly.
Ken was born in Vancouver and grew up in Burnaby, where he developed a love for life that he carried with him through every chapter. A devoted husband, father, grandpa/papa, and friend, Ken’s heart was as big as his laugh. He was also a passionate Realtor, a lover of strong coffee, cold light beer, hats, ties, all things Christmas—and, above all, his family and friends.
Ken’s dedication to his family was unparalleled. He single-handedly raised two beautiful children into strong, independent, and passionate adults. He rarely missed a soccer game, always the proud cheerleader on the sidelines for his grandsons. No matter how cold the water, he was the first one in the pool with his granddaughter, always making her laugh and creating memories that will last forever.
Ken was also devoted to his two beloved dogs, Sarah and Jordie, whose loyalty and playful spirits brought him great joy. Their companionship provided Ken with comfort and love, especially during his brief illness, and became a cherished part of his life.
As a Realtor, Ken left an indelible mark on the community. Known for his generosity, he was always quick to offer support to fellow Realtors, particularly those just starting out. His clients often became lifelong friends, and his mentorship helped shape many careers, grounded in integrity, trust, and genuine care for others.
Ken had an extraordinary ability to make everyone feel seen, heard, and valued. His kindness, curiosity, humor, and deep sense of community left a lasting impression on all who knew him. He often said, “I’m still listening,” and it was that spirit of being present and offering an open ear that made him so special. Ken’s invitation to stop by, sit, chat, and share a laugh with him is something we’ll carry with us forever.
We invite you to share any photos or memories of your time with Ken. He will be dearly missed and remembered forever.
