It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of our beloved wife and mom, Kate, on May 29, 2019, at Burnaby Hospital, after a brief illness.
Kate was born on November 5, 1942, in Helsingør, Denmark. Kate is survived by husband Peter of 54 years, and daughters Tina and Dorthe, along with many relatives in Canada and Denmark. Kate married Peter on April 10, 1965, in Copenhagen, Denmark and their small family immigrated to Canada in 1972.
Kate was loving wife and mother, and was famous for her cooking skills including Danish Open faced sandwiches. Kate enjoyed her love for travel with Peter. They traveled all over the world visiting countries of Australia, Thailand, Vietnam, Egypt, Spain, France, and cruise through Russia and up to Nordcap. Her presence will be truly missed by her family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Danish House Society and the Danish Lutheran Church in Burnaby.
A celebration of life will be held at 1:00 PM on 2019-09-07 at the Scandinavian Community Centre, 6540 Thomas Street, Burnaby, BC, Canada.
