Junia Perry

January 30, 1925 — August 9, 2018

Junia was born in Athabasca, Alberta to Dorothy Ella Mary (Butler) Fisher and David Harry Fisher. The name, Junia, originated from the Bible, Romans verse 16:7. Junia moved at an early age to Victoria. Many hours were spent at Dallas Road waterfront, picking seaweed for their garden, and swimming , she was a strong swimmer, with her sister Virginia Ella, and brother Kenneth Arthur.

Predeceased by husband Donald Wilson Reid 1983 and second husband Arnold Perry. Junia is survived by her daughter, Donna Lee (Reid) Bergholz(Larry) and son David Gordon Reid (Janet). 6 grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.

Junia worked in the shipyards in Victoria, during WW II as a riveter and a rivet catcher. Junia married Donald Reid and moved to Port Alberni where Donna and Dave grew up. There she enjoyed gardening, indoor and outdoor bowling, swimming and entertaining at their Sproat Lake property. Later she moved to Chilliwack and became an amazing artist, knitter, sewer, working for the Red Cross, and author of a children's book, she wrote for her grandchildren, Monkey, Gator, Mouse and Bear. Junia had a great sense of humour, enjoyed adventure, and was a true friend and loved her family. Mum you will be truly missed.
