Josefina Magtoto

Josefina (Josie) Rustata Magtoto, born February 18, 1952 in Cebu City, Philippines, passed away peacefully with family by her side at McKenney Creek Hospice on May 18, 2019.

Josie was one of 12 siblings. She is survived by her husband of 50 years Maximo; her sons Darwin (Cassi); Dennis (Deena); her grandchildren Ashton and Sayda; and her many family and friends.

Josie immigrated to Canada in the early 70’s, where she devoted 40+ years as a Resident Care Aide, providing care and comfort for her elderly patients. Josie was very social and she made friends everywhere she went. She loved to cook, dance, sing and enjoyed her outings at the casino.

We will all miss her smile and her passion for being able to live in the moment and enjoy life to its fullest.

The Magtoto family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to all of Josie’s friends, family and co- workers who came to visit and offer their love and support for her and our family during the last three months. Thank you to McKenney Creek Hospice staff and volunteers for the angelic care, comfort and compassion you all showed to our beloved Josie and our family.
