Joanne Gilbert

Joanne (Jody) Gilbert, 79 Yrs, of White Rock, passed away on 1 Oct 2026 after many medical complications at Peace Arch Hospital.

Jody was born on 25 December 1946 to James and Mary Jane Gilbert in Toronto.

Jody loved her pets and music and will be remembered for her involvement with the White Rock Blues Society and the local music scene in general.

She was a staunch match maker for like-minded people and was the catalyst for creating friendships for many.

She was a part of the furnishings of the local Starbucks where she frequented to meet with everyone. She had a hack to order a venti in two take away grande cups (because she couldn’t finish it in one sitting) which yielded her a bigger drink!

If there was a bargain to be had Jody would not only find it but she would make sure you knew about it.

A service will be held in December closer to her Christmas birthday. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to S.A.R.A. Save Animals through Rescue and Adoption.
