Janet Eleanor Lawson passed away peacefully in New Westminster, British Columbia, on November 17,2022.
Janet Eleanor Lawson was predeceased by her partner Robert Lomas, Mother Hazel, sister's Yvonne, Nancy and brother's Bruce, Colin , Doug , Bert , John. Survived by Son Kevin Lawson, Daughter Theresa Lomas (Brent Cmolik), Grandson Brandon Cmolik, Grandpuppys Bailey and Buster and many Nieces, Nephews and Friends.
Janet was born August 21,1950, in Victoria, British Columbia to Hazel Eleanor Graham Collinson. Janet moved to Vancouver when she was young with her mom and siblings, where she attended school. After graduating Janet worked different jobs from working at an insurance place to landing a job at Vancouver General Hospital in 1973, starting in building services, then moving to patient escort then to patient escort dispatcher.
October 1971, Janet welcomed her first child Kevin. In 1973, Janet met her partner Robert Lomas and they moved to Port Moody in October 1977 and in March 1978, they welcomed their daughter, Theresa.
Janet and her family enjoyed many family vacations from Disneyland, Knots Berry Farm Universal Studios, Las Vegas, Reno, Victoria.
Janet became a widow in June 1999 but stayed busy by working until she retired in 2009 and got the opportunity to look after her daughter's friends' kids from 2010 to 2019 . In November 2016, Janet became a first-time grandma when her daughter and son in-law welcomed a little miracle their son Brandon. She stayed active while creating special memories and a special bond with her grandson that he call Meemaw.
Janet was an active member of T.O.P'S (take off pounds sensibly) for 19 yrs.
Her family has planned a celebration of her amazing beautiful life on Saturday March 25, 2023 at the Royal City Curling Club 75 E Sixth Ave E, New Westminster, BC from 1:00pm to 5:00pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Kidney Foundation or the Heart & Stroke Foundation in memory of Janet Lawson.
Janet will be deeply missed by her family and everyone she knew.
She flies with butterflies.
