In Loving Memory of Hollis George White - we leave fingerprints on every heart we touch
Sunrise: April 4, 1934 – Sunset: March 28, 2025
It is with eternal hope, deep love and great thankfulness that we announce the passing of Hollis George White, beloved husband, son, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, who departed this life in Port Coquitlam, BC on March 28, 2025, at the age of 90 (one week shy of 91).
Born in the beautiful island of Tobago, Hollis was a man who loved Jesus, had quiet strength, kindness to others, was quick to laugh and when the music was good, had a dance. He had gentle wisdom, a love and honor of family and unshakable integrity that came from being in the word of God every day. He left an imprint on many lives with his warm heart, kind spirit as he visited those in the hospital, and unwavering dedication to his family and community in Trinidad and in Canada. Whether it was through his work as a police officer or in architecture, or his presence at family gatherings, Hollis made a point to get to know you.
He was a man who believed in the value of hard work, respect, and love. He loved gardening, good hymns and serving God's people. His stories, his guidance, and his enduring love will remain in our hearts forever.
Hollis is survived by his wife Merle, daughters Renee and Giselle White, step children Jill and Paul Johnson, Jacquline Ryan, Jennifer Ryan and Janice Ryan, 6 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren, siblings Valentine White, Sylphyde Thomas, Nea White, as well as a host of nieces and nephews, friends, and neighbors who will continue to cherish his memory and legacy.
A celebration of Hollis’ life will be held on Apr. 19, 2025 at Riverside Church 2329 Fremont Connector, Port Coquitlam, BC. All are welcome to attend and pay tribute to a life well lived.
Though he may be gone from our sight, he has just gone on ahead of us.
Hollis would want you to know:
Psalm 90:16 - 17 Let your work be shown to your servants, and your glorious power to their children. Let the favor of the Lord our God be upon us, and establish the work of our hands upon us; yes, establish the work of our hands
We are glad you got to go home, rest in peace, Hollis
