Graham Edwin Pawlett, 61, passed away peacefully at Crossroads Hospice on July 12, 2024 after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
For those of us lucky enough to have shared time with Graham, his wonderful sense of humour will be missed dearly. Graham was born in Lachine, PQ to Theodore and Dorothy Pawlett, and moved to British Columbia in 1971. Graham finished high school in Port Moody and continued his education at the Canadian Nazarene College. He returned to Port Moody and began a career with Time Air (Jazz Aviation) which he continued for 35 years. At that time, he also began to volunteer as a firefighter with Port Moody Fire Department, which he continued to do for 37 years until the summer of 2023. Graham was also the Past President of the Canadian Volunteer Fire Services Association, Inaugural Chair of the CAFC Cancer Committee as well as a member of the CAFC National Advisory Council.
Graham is survived by his wife Susan, step children Justin (Alyson) , Shaun and Brittany (Benjamin), grandchildren Eli and Myles, parents Theodore and Dorothy Pawlett, two sisters Nancy (Kevin), Kathy, niece Alexa and many loving relatives and friends both locally and across the country and globe.
The family would like to thank all the amazing staff at Crossroads Hospice, with special acknowledgment to Dr. H. Arntsen, Dr. J. Eddy and Harvinder D. who were instrumental in arranging to have Graham transferred to this special place for his last days. We would also like to extend a warm thank you to everyone who called and visited while he was in hospice.
A memorial service will be held at the Port Moody Inlet Theatre on Saturday, August 31st at 3:30pm. A short reception will follow.
