Geraldine Anna-Marie Felty (nee Brown), 95, passed away peacefully on October 7th,2024 at New Vista Long Term Care Facility in Burnaby, B.C.
She was born on December 31st,1928 in New Westminster, B.C. to Clifton Gilbert Brown and Marie Cornelia Brown (nee Morrow). She was the 1946 school president/valedictorian graduate of Burnaby South Senior Secondary school. Gerry had one sibling - older brother Clifton Gordier Brown. She married Ronald Henderson Felty on August 22nd,1950 at Queens Ave United Church in New Westminster B.C.
Geraldine, starting at a young age, worked at the Bank of Montreal for many years- until roughly 1980. She had a welcoming personality and created a positive and inviting atmosphere. Geraldine also worked at several polling stations as Deputy Returning Officer/Information Officer in her years of involvement with local/municipal elections (Burnaby).
Everyone who knew Geraldine knew that she was a Dog Lover her entire life. From her Dalmatian dog when she was a young girl to caring for neighbor Marilyn Rushton's retired service dogs when necessary. Geraldine simply loved dogs and would often go out of her way to be in their company! Geraldine was also very passionate about sports. She was a big sports fan as well as a participant; high school basketball and, her favorite sport, tennis with friend Jackie Latta.
Throughout her life, especially in her later years, Geraldine and husband Ronald travelled a great deal and saw much of the world as they had always longed to see. All and all, Geraldine touched many hearts in a deep and positive way! She will be missed by so many!!
Geraldine was pre-deceased by her husband Ronald and is survived by her 4 sons: Robert Scott Felty, Richard John (Vicki) Felty, Clifton Randall (Anna Maria) Felty, William Ronald (Andrea) Felty; her grandkids: Vince, Elana, Olivia, Luke, Matthew and Nicholas and also great grandson Nicolas; many cousins, nephews and nieces.
Family friends and others whose lives Gerry touched are invited to her Celebration of Life at a date and time to be advised.
