George Sedore was the Unicorn, a true one of a kind and every bit the majestic spirit we all loved. He could not be contained and was a free spirit at heart. He passed away in Vancouver on December 26, 2025 in his 49th year, and it was felt heavily by all who knew him. His spirit and energy however will never fade, anyone that had the pleasure of knowing him will forever be changed. George possessed a charisma that just cannot be explained, the energy poured out of him unconditionally. The life of the party, he could fit in anywhere with anyone. He loved cooking, his mastery of good food made it easy to be the center of attention anywhere he went. He always had the best stories, an unmistakable smile and that laugh, simply unforgettable, will forever live in the hearts of those whose lives he touched. He had a passion for life, and a determination to help that was larger than we will ever know. His recent efforts and leadership with organizations such as VANDU and EIDGE in Vancouver are just few examples of his passion for helping. His ability to connect with people was unmatched.
George was born in the brilliance of Newfoundland. His character was gilded by the East coast and then further shaped as he grew up in Ontario, later to travel the nation and the world. It’s exceptionally fitting that he landed on the west coast. Experiencing every moment, everywhere that he went to the fullest and always at peace in the clutches of nature. George will be missed deeply and fondly remembered by his family, extended family, friends, acquaintances, absolutely anyone who had the privilege of knowing him. Rest easy George, your journey has only just begun.
