Fred Bodtcher

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Fred Bodtcher on November 29, 2024, just four days shy of his 80th birthday. Fred was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend whose vibrant spirit and infectious laugh brought joy to everyone fortunate to know him.
Fred loved his wife and was a devoted father to his two sons, and was a loving father to two stepsons. Fred cherished the title of “Grampa”, taking pride in his eight grandchildren and their accomplishments. He was a constant source of support, wisdom, and humour.
Fred had a presence that could fill a room with warmth. His big personality and hearty laugh were legendary. Friends and family alike knew when Fred entered a room. He had a unique ability to make everyone feel special.
In addition to his deep love for family and friends, Fred had a passion for life and cherished moments with his family and laughing over a chess board. Fred enjoyed a successful career as Corporate Controller with companies ranging from Neon signs to undersea oil, to adult diapers to concrete.
Fred is survived by his loving wife, Colleen; his sons David (Jeaneva) and Douglas (Sheri); his stepsons Dean and Reid (Melissa); his grandchildren Cassidy, Hillary, Palmer, Chase, Amelia, Gabriel, Elijah, and Arlo; his sister Olivia, and a multitude of nieces, nephews, and friends who will forever hold him in their hearts.
A celebration of Fred’s life will be held in the summer of 2025 and Fred’s son will extend invitations when details are available.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made towards your own RRSP’s, TFSA’s or 401K’s as Fred was always trying to help build financial foundations.
Though Fred has departed from this world, his legacy of love and laughter will continue to resonate in the hearts of all who knew him.
