Elmer Alexander Turcios Diaz

Devoted husband (Stefanny), dad (Cristian, Maya & Liam), son, nephew, brother, brother-in-law, son-in-law, beloved Tio to many nieces and nephews and Meme to his closest family and childhood friends.

Elmer will be honoured and remembered for his warm and friendly personality, incredible resilience, endless creativity and compassionate nature. He was very proud of his Latino heritage and culture.

He had a great laugh and blessed us often with his contagious humorous soul. Elmer loved photography and thanks to this inherited passion, gifted to him by his mom, we are fortunate to have a cherished photo and video library of captured memories curated through his lens.

Elmer was a hard-working family man. He enjoyed a nearly 30-year service career in aviation; he also worked seasonally as a tour guide and driver, a gig that brought him much joy.

He shared his love of cooking and the outdoors with us; always mindful of his environmental footprint by recycling or repurposing almost everything. Elmer could take things apart and put them back together like a Jenga master, our eternal Mr. Fix It.

Elmer will forever be his sons’ first hero and his daughter’s first love. He will be dearly missed by family and friends.
