Douglas Mckelvie
June 14, 1970 — January 10, 2023
On January 10, 2023, Douglas McKelvie, a loving father to Kaito and Haruto and spouse to Yuko, suddenly passed away at the age of 52. Doug is also survived by his father Neil, mother Lorna, brother Neil Jr., and sister Tina. He is predeceased by his sister Sandy.
He will be remembered by many friends and co-workers in the Vancouver golfing community.
Doug was very hardworking, having spent over 20 years in the security industry in downtown Vancouver. In recent years, he transitioned to a new job working at Mayfair Lakes Golf Course. Working there was something that never felt like work for Doug because of the joy it brought him. Doug often talked about how much he loved the relationships he built with the members at Mayfair. A highlight of his week was his Wednesday round of golf with his crew members.
A celebration of life will be held with family and friends in the spring/summer of 2023.
