Diane Cecilia Muir (Cox), age 79, a lifelong resident of Vancouver, B.C., passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of Sat., Nov. 15, 2025, following a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s disease. Born June 12, 1946, she was the daughter of the late Margret and Arthur Cox, and grew up alongside her two sisters and brother, all deceased. She married the love of her life, Roy Muir, on June 25, 1966, embarking on a devoted partnership that spanned almost 60 years. While she began her career as a telephone operator and grew to a supervisor, her greatest calling was motherhood and gave up her profession to raise her five children. Diane enjoyed gardening, reading, and baking, making sure almost every family birthday was celebrated with one of her delicious cakes. Her warmth, dedication, and boundless love for her family will be deeply missed. She is survived by her husband, Roy; children Mike Muir (Susan), Deborah Datwin (Efren), Ken Muir, and Donna Muir; cherished grandchildren Jessica Muir, Ryan Muir, and Maximus Datwin, along with many other grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Diane was preceded in death by her son, Douglas Muir. Close family and friends are holding the Interment on Sat., Nov. 29, 2025, at 11:15 a.m. Followed by a Celebration of Life which begins at 12:30 p.m. at Mountain View Cemetery, 5455 Fraser St., Vancouver, B.C. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer Society.
