It is with heavy hearts and great sadness we announce the passing of precious and beautiful Dawn Alexandra Wesley (Wapeton Sequence) of Fisher River Cree Nation and Opaskwayak Cree Nation, Manitoba

Born in Winnipeg, Manitoba to parents Wendy Bignell and Kevin Leon Wesley, stepmom, Leah Jackson

Dawn loved life so much and brought so much love, light and joy to our lives. She was a natural born leader and never afraid of a challenge. She was fiercely devoted and always ready to listen, open and honest about everything in her life. Her smile and laughter lit up the room. She was creative, kind, and sweet beyond words, such a good girl. Family meant everything to her and her biggest love was her Dad. She cherished the moments spending time with her grandmama Amelia, they would talk for hours, so much love between these two.

She loved Vancity and living in Maple Ridge. Some of her favorite things was hanging out with friends by the water, listening to music, family hikes in the forest, relaxing with the sound of rain and of course the color pink. Dawn was blessed with brilliant friends, beautiful family and awesome pets. She had so much love in her heart and was always bringing home a kitty or two or out on an adventure with Atim and her best friends at her side. She was a shining star with a bright future and so much talent, loved and adored by everyone she met.

Chi-miigwech for the memories and times we shared, you’re our guardian angel now. You and your dad are together again, watching over us, always close to us, forever in our hearts. I have so much gratitude and love for you and miss you every moment of the day.
