David "Lorne" Peters

August 18, 1949 — December 14, 2025

Port Coquitlam

In loving memory of Lorne who passed away peacefully on December 14, 2025 at Ridge Meadows Hospital. He is survived by his wife Marta of 48 years, his brother Derreck (Karen), his brother Tim (Corine), his uncle Walter (Mary), cousins and friends.

Lorne was born in Winkler, Manitoba and grew up on the family farm. In 1967 Lorne moved for new adventures to Vancouver and eventually settled in Port Coquitlam.

Lorne worked at a sawmill for many years and later worked in the boat building industry and also as a caretaker for a townhouse complex.

Lorne enjoyed woodworking, gardening, photography, travelling, and road trips in his truck. He liked to cook and try out new creations for family and friends and always made special desserts for us at Christmas.

For many years now Lorne liked to start his day by meeting up with his coffee buddies for coffee. He enjoyed this time together and the friendship.

One of Lorne’s greatest joys was being on his sailboat cruising the local waters, which he was able to do for many years, being out in nature and exploring many beautiful destinations in the Gulf Islands, Sunshine Coast and Desolation Sound.

Lorne’s spirit lives forever in our hearts and minds with our memories of our times together.

If desired donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
