With heavy hearts we share the sad news of the passing of Christine Duncan, aged 80, who passed away peacefully on June 20, 2026, in Port Coquitlam, B.C., Canada.
Christine was born on December 25, 1945, in Thorne, Yorkshire, England, daughter of Anne and Bill Taylor, and younger sister of Pauline. Growing up in Middlesbrough in the North East of England, Christine was a hard-working student at school where she became Head Girl.
In 1965, she made a bold move to emigrate to Canada, setting sail from Liverpool to create a new life. She settled in Montréal, where she lived until 1979 raising her two children, Jenny and Mark.
In 1979, Christine returned to England where she established and operated a successful printing business in Solihull with her husband Steve. Christine and Steve remained in Solihull for many years before later relocating to Chilliwack, British Columbia in 2001 to start their retirement. Steve passed away in Chilliwack in 2017, leaving many happy memories of their life together but also a huge hole in Christine’s heart.
Having lived in many places throughout her life, Christine was happiest in her years with Steve in Chilliwack, enjoying time with her daughter Jenny and husband Nick, and precious years watching her grandson James grow up. She would travel back to England each year for extended visits to her sister Pauline, her son Mark, his wife Dani, and her grandchildren Zach, Theo, and Cali, creating many happy family memories. In 2021, Christine moved to Port Coquitlam to be nearer to Jenny where she lived out her final years.
Christine is survived by her children, Jenny and Mark, her daughter‑in‑law Dani, her son‑in‑law Nick, her beloved grandchildren James, Zach, Theo and Cali, as well as her sister Pauline, her niece Jacqueline, her nephew Richard, and her Aunt Syl. Christine will be dearly missed by all of her family and friends in Canada and in the U.K.
