Obituary for Peter Pawluk

Peter Pawluk, 90, formally of Stoney Creek, Ontario, died peacefully on June 29, 2023, in Port Moody, BC.

Peter was born in Barton Township in 1933, spending much if his life in Southern Ontario. He and Sylvia later moved to Port Coquitlam BC to enjoy their final years.

In Stoney Creek, Peter was well-known in the community as the co-proprietor of the Da-Nite Tavern for over 35 years. He was instrumental in developing the Da-Night-a-Thon, a local event that raised money for Muscular Dystrophy. Additionally, Peter was an active member of the Stoney Creek Optimist Club, where he served terms as President and Treasurer.

Peter's love of travel took him and Sylvia to many exotic world destinations, including the Middle East, China and the Soviet-era Russia. On top of that, there were over 20 cruises, including Atlantic crossings and sailing around Patagonia.

Peter is survived by his loving wife Sylvia, his 3 sons, Peter (Susan), Paul (Kim), and Steven (Liesl) and grandchildren Michael (Meagan) and Abbe, sister-in-law Helen, niece Donna (Don), and nephew David. He is predeceased by his brothers Fred, John and granddaughter Katie.

In lieu of a service, a private cremation will take place for the family members only. The family would like to thank the staff at his home, Aspira Astonia Retirement Living, and the staff of Eagle Ridge Hospital for their dedicated care and compassion.
