Obituary for Lorraine Marie Pauline Bremner (Doucette)
Lorraine was born on April 2, 1940 in New Westminster, B.C. to parents; Omer Joseph Doucette and Ludwina Beatrice Doucette (Pelcher).
She was raised with a French and Polish heritage, being the only child she spent time with many Aunts, Uncles and cousins in the Sapperton and Coquitlam area.
Lorraine married the love of her life, Marcel on August 27, 1960 and was welcomed into his family of 14 brothers and sisters. They began their family of 5 children from 1961 until the last of their 2 daughters passed in 1991. Both daughters greeted her in heaven; Brenda-Leigh 1964 to 1969 and Dianalyn 1972 to 1991.
Throughout the 81 years of Lorraine’s life she never moved off the same neighborhood block and passed at 11:45pm with her husband praying over her in their Coquitlam home on October 21, 2021.
Sadly missed by: her husband Marcel of 61 years, children Theresa (Paul), Darrell (Debbie) & Darlene and 8 grandchildren Jayson, Christopher (Katlyn), Kevin (Danielle), Kate, Thomas, Isabella, Mitchell & Russell (Stephanie) also 5 great grandchildren Riley, Karsynn, Chase, Connor & Hayley.
Lorraine's love for singing was expressed as a choir director and during countless family sing-a-longs. She decorated wedding & birthday cakes, and spent many years bowling with the neighbourhood ladies of whom she also did their hair. Always happy to volunteer her time with the local church, Lorraine cared for every pet that God brought into her life.
Psalm 91:1-2
He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress; my God, in Him I will trust.”
