John Albert James Cooper passed away Wednesday, August 18, 2022 at Crossroads Hospice in Port Moody, BC.
John is sadly missed and lovingly remembered by partner Vera Lynn Hamilton, sisters Valerie Rodden, Joanne Bucknell and Tracy Macaloney, cousins Michael, Teresita, Ryan, Megan, and Matthew Birtch, and many good friends, including John Hanson and Howard Cairns who have known John since high school. No words can adequately express our gratitude to Nikki, Lisa, the dedicated nurses, doctors, volunteers, administrative, kitchen and cleaning staff at Crossroads who cared for John and extended the quality of his life so beautifully to the end.
John had a natural gift for and love of music. He composed, arranged, played acoustic and electric guitar, and keyboard. He also did scale modelling work constructing and airbrushing intricate WW2 airplanes, tanks, aircraft carriers, and the like with precision. John tried his self-taught hand at many things including wood carving and macrame, and since he was a child wanted to understand how things work. He was curious about physics and the universe. John had a quick wit and charmed everyone he met. He loved his daughter, Hope, and wished there had been more time and a way to express that to her.
No service by request. John gifted his eyes and two people will see because of his generosity. In memory of John, please be kind and gracious to one another, keep your sense of humour, pursue your passions and live life to the fullest.
In lieu of flowers, please donate your time or financial resources to a charity of your choosing.
