Obituary for Garry Harry Braun

Garry Braun has passed on, after gracing this life for 77 years. Garry was a proud member of the Royal Canadian Electrical Mechanical Engineers and served his country during postings to Germany during the Cold War years.

Home in Canada, Garry turned his skills to maintaining the massive machinery used to move the Earth and harvest her forests, at mines in the far North and the logging camps of the West Coast. Not content to work on machines that were just very large, Garry moved to caring for the giant cranes that dominate the Vancouver Harbour skyline.

Garry had the mind of an engineer and the skills of a master mechanic, but the heart and the soul of a poet. He was a good man who led an honourable life and had more influence than he ever knew on those who had the benefit of knowing him.

Garry was an only son, a brother to 4 sisters and a cherished Uncle to 11 nieces and nephews. All of us would like to acknowledge that Garry was cared for in a most respectful and caring manner at both St. Paul’s and Vancouver General Hospitals.

Rest in Peace
