Obituary for Garett Brian James Bullock

On Tuesday, March 9, 2021, Garett Brian James Bullock, father, son, brother, and uncle, passed away suddenly by accident at the age of 40 years. Garett was born on July 3, 1980 in Edmonton, AB to Brian and Kathy Bullock. Garett’s younger years were spent barrel racing his beloved pony Gypsy and enjoying the outdoors in Creston, BC until the family moved to Vancouver Island, BC. Garett continued his love of the outdoors and added Ladysmith Air Cadet Squadron to his hobbies. As a young adult, he moved to Vancouver, BC, where he worked as an actor and on film sets in the construction and special effects departments. After a few years, he met and later married Mitra. He followed her to Toronto, ON where he furthered his acting passion and started a family, Hopper (son) and Harriet (daughter). Garett and his young family returned to Vancouver, BC to help care for his father and family.

Garett had a passion for performing and the arts. He aspired to be an actor, attending many schools and seminars. He co-created and took part in many local plays including Beirut in Toronto, ON, and made appearances in a number of TV series, such as Hemlock Grove and Supergirl.

Garett loved to travel and ride his motorcycle. He visited Thailand as a young adult which sparked his love of spiritualism and cooking Thai food. Garett loved the arts, the food, and the history of New York and Montreal. He had an eclectic love of music, ranging from Elvis Presley to Bob Marley to Merle Haggard. Garett loved the outdoors, especially in the mountains of Creston Valley, BC, where he loved to hunt, camp, and fish. He was known for his quick wit, his infectious smile, and his kind and compassionate heart.

Garett will be sadly missed and forever remembered by his precious children, Hopper and Harriet, his mother Kathy (Pat), his sisters and brother, Kassi, Rhea, Karmen (Mike), and Eric (Bernadette), and the mother of his children, Mitra. Garett will also be forever remembered by his numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family, and dear friends. Garett was predeceased by his father, Brian Bullock.

A Celebration of Garett’s life will be held on July 3, 2021 online and in-person. Details will be released closer to the date in order to follow the COVID-19 regulations at that time.
