Obituary for Donna May Mcmullin

Violet May Murray
(Known as Donna May Mcmullin)
April 26th, 1941 – June 6th, 2021

It is with great sadness I announce the passing of my dear mother Donna May who passed away peacefully on June 6th, 2021 in Surrey, B.C.

Donna was predeceased by her parents Percy and Violet, her sister Lil, brother-in-law Ernie, and sister-in-law Angie. She is survived by her brother Tom & family, daughter Shawna (Neil), grandson Dylan, nieces April & family, Tammy (Shane) & family, Tracy (Derek) & family, her dearest friend Laurie and extended family residing on Vancouver Island, Edmonton, and the Cariboo Region.

Donna was a beloved Sister, Mother, Nana, Auntie, and Friend. She leaves us all with many wonderful memories and the comfort of knowing she is now at peace.

My mom was known for being fiercely independent, kind, funny, adventurous, fashionable, having a zany sense of humor, and her faith in God.

She loved the sound of laughter, music, the ocean, babies, animals, thrift stores, shoes, Seinfeld, and jogging (back in the day). Most of all she loved being Dylan’s Nana, times spent with her family, her dog Jules, telephone chats with her nieces, long talks with her brother Tom, and her shopping adventures, visits, and Monday night chats with her dear friend Laurie.

A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.

In lieu of flowers a donation can be made in Donna’s name to the BCSPCA

“I would like the memory of me
to be a happy one.

I would like to leave an after glow
of smiles when my life is done.

I would like to leave an echo
whispering softly down the ways

of happy times and laughing times
and bright and sunny days.”
