Obituary for Donald Robert Hepting

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Donald Robert Hepting, beloved husband, son, brother, and best friend. He was taken suddenly and unexpectedly on December 10, 2021.

Don with his 1,000-watt smile is now a brilliant star in the universe. His heart was true, generous, and loving; he would give you the shirt off his back, always putting others first. Don lived to make people laugh with his unique sense of humour and his love of the absurd. He made every event an adventure; from skydiving, fishing, waterskiing, sinking 30-foot putts and everything in between. His motto was “Go Big or Go Home”. His zest for life was undeniable and his charisma captivated all that met him. He will live in our hearts and be missed forever.

Don is survived by his loving wife of 29 years Mila (Emily) Semcesen, parents Dianne and Ed Hepting, brothers Gary (wife Stephanie), David (wife Janice), Darren, sisters Anita and Denise, aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews, and an enormous and enduring group of life-long true friends. Special thanks in our time of need to Don’s dearest and best friend Tracy (a.k.a. Chief).

We wish to thank the doctors and staff at Burnaby Hospital for their care and compassion.

A memorial celebration with family and friends will take place when conditions for gatherings are more suitable.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the
