In Loving Memory of Chong Tang Huang

Chong Huang, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on October 25th, 2023, at the age of 81. He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and a lifetime of cherished memories. He is survived by his loving wife, Nancy, and their three children - Jenny, Warren, and Billy, as well as their spouses - David, Joyce, and Emily. Chong was also a proud grandfather to his grandchildren.

Chong was born in Tainan, Taiwan in 1942. In his journey through life, he eventually settled in Vancouver where he became a part of the community and touched the lives of many.

Chong was a man of many talents and passions. He was a man of faith, attending the Vancouver Taiwanese Presbyterian Church and then Garden Village for as long as he was physically able. He was an avid outdoorsman, finding solace and excitement in hunting and fishing. He had an innate ability to fix things, always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need. He took pride in his career of building homes. And he had an artistic soul, finding joy in painting and carving, creating beautiful works of art that will continue to be treasured by his family. His love for music was evident to all who knew him, and he would sometimes break out in song, singing the oldies or hymns and making people smile. His storytelling was also a gift, and he will be remembered for his tales.

Chong faced health challenges in recent years, but he continued to find happiness in the simple joys of life, sharing meals and visits from his family, grandchildren, and friends.

Chong's memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. He leaves behind a profound and lasting legacy of love and a deep appreciation for the beauty of life. He will be dearly missed but never forgotten.

A private family gathering will be held in the coming weeks. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the charity of your choice, as a tribute to Chong Huang.

Please join us as we remember and celebrate the remarkable life of Chong and the love he shared with us all.
