Obituary for Adele Lemire

It is with great sadness that the family of Adele Lemire announces her passing at the Royal Columbian Hospital.

Adele leaves to mourn her beloved husband, Kevin, of nearly 40 years, sons Michael (Jody), Garret (Julia), grand-daughters Tessa and Emery. Also missing Adele are her siblings Noreen (Spencer), Gary (Gloria), Ida (David), and Tricia, as well as Kevin's siblings Marilyn (David), Richard (Debbie), David (Christine), Steven (Sanda) and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Adele was predeceased by her parents Ian and Norma (Greig), brothers-in-law Robert and Roger and sister-in-law Marcia.

Adele was a dedicated nurse taking her training at Royal Columbian Hospital and later working at Children's Hospital until her retirement. Adele was a very social person who loved music, gardening, and her own version of sayings such as, "Bob's your uncle".

Adele struggled with advancing Alzheimer’s before succumbing to a serious infection. But true to her strength and determination, she put up an amazing fight right to the end.

The family would like to thank the excellent Doctors and Nurses at Royal Columbian Hospital who took such good care of Adele in the last weeks of her life. Special thanks go out to Dr. Jonathan Griffin, a close family friend, for the days of support and assistance given to Adele, Kevin, and their families.

As difficult as it is to say good-bye, we know Adele is now at peace.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Adele's memory can be made to Food Banks BC, a charity dear to Adele's heart.

A Celebration of Life will be planned for a later date.
