Obituary for Cameron "Freddie" Baumann

With very heavy hearts, we announce the loss of our beloved son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin and friend, Cam Baumann.

Cam was born in Drayton Valley, Alberta. As a young boy, he had a curious and adventurous spirit, a relentless need to explore and a mind filled with creative ideas. Because Cam was the ultimate task master he worked as an electrician, expanding his experiences to become a project manager in the development of water plants in the Cayman Islands and coordinating systems for oil and gas companies in Alberta. The last three years he lived in Port Moody, working on residential and commercial projects in Vancouver.

Cam thrived helping others and it gave him great joy. He protected those he loved and always put family and friends first, giving encouragement and support to those around him. There wasn’t a project Cam would shy away from. He enjoyed taking on DIY challenges and his strong work ethic and brilliant ideas always shone through with meticulous and outstanding results. He had a tremendous amount of pride in his work which is evident in the accomplishments he left behind.

Although Cam left us far too soon, his humour, quirky voices, impersonations and laughter will echo through our hearts and minds forever. He would go out of his way to make others laugh with his crazy antics. There wasn’t a prank he could resist and no one was exempt from his teasing. He had a nickname for many, a soul connection to music, a skill for culinary success, a passion for travel, a respect for people and the world around him and a genuine love for animals; he often described dogs as "magical" Cam had a presence that filled a room and a character that was larger than life, leaving us with an irreplaceable void. His generous soul and his lively spirit will always be felt by those who were fortunate enough to have known him. Cam was original and unequivocally one of a kind.

It is impossible to forget someone who gave us so much to remember. Cam will be forever missed by his parents Fred and Beth and his family; Paris, Marie (Darrell), Ryan, Isabelle, Max, Martinique (Jesse), Randy (Taylor), Teresa (Bruce), McKenna (Luke), Cassidy and Hudson aka “Leroy”, Aunt Claudette and Uncle Stan and Family, Aunts Helen and Madeline and Family and the countless friends and people who knew and loved him.

A memorial service for immediate family will be held to celebrate his life.
